SECURIFY APPOINTS STEVE WOO AS VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
CUPERTINO, Calif., September 21, 2005 - Securify, Inc., a leading provider of network security management solutions, announced today that Steve Woo joins the company as the new Vice President of Marketing. Woo will drive Securify's marketing, product management and strategic business development initiatives.
"Steve is a respected veteran in the security, management and networking infrastructure arenas with a thorough understanding of our customers' requirements," said Buck French, Securify's CEO. "His demonstrated leadership and success in repeatedly bringing innovative solutions to market will be a key addition to our executive team."
Woo was the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Riverhead Networks, leading the security company to dominate the market for protecting ecommerce from distributed denial of service attacks. He parlayed this success into an acquisition of Riverhead by Cisco Systems. At Cisco, he drove the integration of behavioral anomaly technology into their security platforms and deployments to leading enterprise and financial customers.
"Securify's breakthrough "positive" behavioral model of the intended and secure usage of networked applications and assets can uniquely detect all risks - including misuse and break-ins even at the application level," said Steve Woo. "This ability to monitor actual application traffic for adherence to usage policies, integrated with traditional known intrusion detection and vulnerability assessment provides the proactive visibility into all risks that customers have been searching for. Securify's multi-project deployments in large enterprise and federal customers confirms the success of this approach."
Prior to Riverhead, Woo was the Director of Marketing for Enterprise Management solutions at Cisco responsible for a portfolio of security management, traffic analysis, and quality of service tools. He had been the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Class Data Systems, a policy management vendor acquired by Cisco in 1998. Prior to Class Data, Woo held senior strategic planning, marketing and product management positions at Bay Networks and its start-up predecessor SynOptics Communications. He was responsible for managing the industry's dominant LattisNet intelligent network hub solutions from the first Ethernet over twisted pair hub to multi-service modular platforms garnering over $1.5 Billion in revenue. His career also includes management consulting with McKinsey & Company. He earned his MBA and MSEE degrees from Stanford University.
