SECURIFY AND SFA PARTNER TO SAFEGUARD FEDERAL NETWORKS
Technology Leaders Team to Assess and Maintain Network Security Posture at U.S. Government Installations
MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, and LARGO, Maryland, September
25, 2003 - Securify, Inc., a pioneer and leader in network
security management, and SFA, Inc., a leading provider of
technical support services to U.S. government agencies, today
announced a strategic alliance to help safeguard networks
used by government agencies. Through this alliance, SFA is
now an approved Securify Channel Partner. This partnership
will allow SFA to employ Securify SecurVantageTM, a product
suite that provides vulnerability management and compliance
monitoring within an integrated policy-based framework, to
rapidly assess and baseline customers’ security policies
and postures. Deployment of this product suite will ensure
that all network security devices actually meet security policy
mandates. SFA now will also provide a variety of professional
services to help agencies successfully deploy the SecurVantage
product suite within their organizations to manage and maintain
network security.
Securify SecurVantage will enable SFA’s Government
Services Division to uncover the effective security policy
of an agency’s existing operations, revealing the security
actually being achieved by routers, firewalls, and other network
defenses. SecurVantage provides SFA with a continuous, objective,
and measurable picture of actual changes in network traffic
in order to expose potential security lapses. In addition
to employing SecurVantage in its comprehensive network security
solutions, SFA will supply the necessary professional services
to help customers rapidly deploy SecurVantage, including system
integration, policy development, security analysis, and methodology
support.
“SecurVantage is ideal for rapidly assessing a network’s
security posture and quickly pinpointing where potential problems
may lie. This product offers our customers the best solution
for developing, implementing, and monitoring the security
policies of their networks,” said Stephen Corey, vice
president of SFA’s Government Services Division. “With
the dynamic nature of today’s modern networks, SecurVantage
offers government organizations a powerful way to ensure that
they always achieve the level of security they require.”
“SecurVantage is quickly establishing itself as the
de-facto standard for network security management within the
federal government, and our partnership with SFA is the latest
example of this success,” said Carl Wright, vice president
of federal operations at Securify. “SFA is well respected
within the federal government, and we are excited to be working
with them to help ensure the security of government networks.”
About Securify SecurVantage
Securify SecurVantage consists of Securify SecurVantage Studio,
the policy development and analysis environment; Securify
SecurVantage Monitor, the monitoring and evaluation system;
and Securify SecurVantage Enterprise, which aggregates and
analyzes data across an enterprise. Using SecurVantage, enterprises
can create a formal set of requirements that network traffic
must comply with—a "policy" describing the
"correct" behavior of the network—based on
corporate security policy, business practices, and regulatory
requirements. Using the integrated policy framework, SecurVantage
continuously evaluates, in real time, the packets moving across
the network at all levels of the protocol stack and makes
decisions as to whether or not the traffic is consistent with
the policy. This information is then clearly presented in
a Web-based analysis environment in a format appropriate to
the specific business.
The SecurVantage solution provides detailed information on
all aspects of network security, including network topology,
applications and services for logical network groups, and
asset vulnerabilities. Additionally, trend reports based upon
policy violations can assess specific areas of network operation.
These reports include violation trends by host group, root
cause analysis of recurring events, total traffic and violations
by type of service, device configuration status, access procedure
compliance, service status by host group, and quality of service
for encryption and password strength.
