SECURIFY WINS U.S. NAVY CONTRACT
SecurVantage to Boost Security Situational Awareness of Navy Legacy Enterprise Network Throughout NMCI Transition
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., October 28, 2002 - Securify, Inc.,
a pioneer and leader in network security policy solutions,
today announced it has signed a contract with the U.S. Navy
to bolster its ability to ensure security of its enterprise
network before, during and after its transition to the new
Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). Securify will supply the
Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) with the SecurVantage™
automated network security management system and provide day-to-day
assistance to ensure the highest level of network security
as NAVSUP makes its transition to using the NMCI for everything
from administrative tasks to ammunition supply.
The Naval Supply Systems Command and Securify will install
SecurVantage Monitor systems throughout the NAVSUP Enterprise
Networks to rapidly baseline the information architecture
and boundary communication requirements. SecurVantage provides
NAVSUP with a significantly increased situational awareness
of the overall security posture of the command throughout
the network and application transition process. The Securify
SecurVantage product will provide NAVSUP with an automated
tool which will assist in identifying legacy applications
that do not meet security requirements. This will allow NAVSUP
to implement corporate mitigation strategies to more easily
migrate to the NMCI environment.
"This contract clearly demonstrates the Navy's confidence
in our product to help protect the critical flow of information,
material and services our Naval forces need to maintain readiness,"
said Carl Wright, vice president of federal operations for
Securify. "Building on our recent partnership with Dataline
Inc., a leading government solutions provider, today's announcement
is a significant milestone in our efforts to deliver and scale
the SecurVantage product in the federal government market."
The Navy Marine Corps Intranet is a comprehensive initiative
that will make the full range of network-based information
services available to Sailors and Marines for day-to-day activities
and in war. NMCI will give the Navy and Marine Corps secure,
universal access to integrated voice, video and data communications;
will afford pier-side connectivity to Navy vessels in port;
and will link more than 360,000 desktops across the United
States as well as sites in Puerto Rico, Iceland and Cuba.
The Naval Supply Systems Command provides U.S. Naval Forces
with quality supplies and services. A principal source of
readiness, NAVSUP's diverse team delivers information, material,
services and the quality-of-life products the U.S. Naval Forces
need. Nearly 24,000 employees manage logistics programs in
the areas of supply operations, contracting, resale, fuel,
transportation, security assistance, conventional ordnance,
food service and other quality-of -life programs.
About Securify SecurVantage
Securify SecurVantage consists of Securify SecurVantage Studio,
the policy development and analysis environment; Securify
SecurVantage Monitor, the monitoring and evaluation system;
and Securify SecurVantage Enterprise, which aggregates and
analyzes data across an enterprise. Using SecurVantage, enterprises
can create a formal set of requirements network traffic must
comply with -- a "policy" describing the "correct"
behavior of the network -- based on corporate security policy
and business practices. Using these requirements, SecurVantage
continuously evaluates, in real time, the packets moving across
the network at all levels of the protocol stack, and makes
decisions as to whether or not the traffic is consistent with
the policy. This information is then clearly presented in
a Web-based analysis environment in a format appropriate to
the specific business.
The SecurVantage solution provides detailed information on
all aspects of network security, including network topology;
applications and services for logical network groups; and
asset vulnerabilities. Additionally, trend reports based upon
policy violations can assess specific areas of network operation.
These reports include violation trends by host group; root
cause analysis of recurring events; total traffic and violations
by type of service; device configuration status; access procedure
compliance; service status by host group; and quality of service
for encryption and password strength.
