SECURIFY AWARDED CONTRACT FOR NAVY NETWORK SECURITY
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., August 11, 2003 - Securify, Inc.,
a pioneer and leader in network security management, today
announced EDS has awarded the company a contract to help secure
U.S. Navy legacy networks during the Department of the Navy’s
(DON) transition to the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI).
Under terms of the new contract, EDS will deploy the full
suite of SecurVantageTM security management products to automatically
verify the ongoing policy compliance of the networks and provide
the high quality information and quantitative metrics required
to more effectively manage the overall security posture of
the NMCI and Navy legacy networks.
SecurVantage continuously monitors, measures and analyzes
network traffic to ensure it is in compliance with the established
network security practices, providing NMCI security personnel
and the DON with real-time information on the overall effectiveness
of Navy legacy network- and application-level security components,
including firewalls, virus protection software, VPNs, routers,
authentication and authorization solutions and a broad variety
of hosts.
SecurVantage, installed at the boundary between NMCI and Navy
legacy networks, is able to identify inappropriate network
activity from either side of the boundary, as well as monitor
expected but untrustworthy traffic, and provide the relevant,
actionable information necessary to quickly and effectively
combat security breaches.
“We look forward to working with EDS in implementing
this automated security management solution to protect the
Navy legacy networks,” said Carl Wright, vice president
of federal operations for Securify.
The Securify SecurVantage automated network security management
suite consists of SecurVantage Studio, the policy development
and analysis environment; SecurVantage Monitor, the monitoring
and evaluation system; SecurVantage Enterprise, which aggregates
and analyzes data across an enterprise; and SecurVantage Enterprise
Global for more easily managing network security in highly
complex environments.
The SecurVantage solution provides detailed information on
all aspects of network security, including network topology;
applications and services for logical network groups; and
asset vulnerabilities. Additionally, trend reports based upon
policy violations can assess specific areas of network operation.
These reports include violation trends by host group; root
cause analysis of recurring events; total traffic and violations
by type of service; device configuration status; access procedure
compliance; service status by host group; and quality of service
for encryption and password strength.
The NMCI is a comprehensive, enterprise-wide network that
will make the full range of network-based information services
available to sailors and Marines for day-to-day activities
and in war. When fully deployed, NMCI will provide the Navy
and Marine Corps secure, universal access to integrated voice,
video and data communications, afford pier-side connectivity
to Navy vessels in port, and will link more than 360,000 desktops
across the United States and several overseas sites.
