SECURIFY EARNS RECOGNITION FROM THE NATIONAL INFORMATION ASSURANCE PARTNERSHIP
Company granted EAL2 status, placed on preferred product list
CUPERTINO, Calif., January 20, 2005 - Securify, Inc., a leading provider of network security infrastructure, announced today that it has achieved recognition from the National Information Assurance Partnership, (NIAP) earning placement on the prestigious international preferred product list. Securify holds EAL2 status and has been accepted into testing for the EAL3 level.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA) established this program under the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) to evaluate IT product conformance to international standards. The program, officially known as the NIAP Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme for IT Security (CCEVS) is a partnership between the public and private sectors, created in response to international security issues.
According to a CCEVS representative, "vendors who pursue this type of rigorous testing typically are very committed to international security and have extreme confidence in their product." Companies who are participating in this evaluation are assessed in a highly formal, structured test environment and must provide all documentation for examination to assure product claims assure desired behavior. EAL levels indicate greater rigor and increased achievements in security assurance.
"Securify's participation in this program exemplifies our true commitment to serve the federal government," said Buck French, Chairman and CEO of Securify. "Adhering to NIAP standards solidifies our confidence in the superior technology that we're offering to our customers."
NIAP Project Objectives:
- To meet the needs of government and industry for cost-effective evaluation of IT products;
- To encourage the formation of commercial security testing laboratories and the development of a private sector security testing industry;
- To ensure that security evaluations of IT products are performed to consistent standards;
- To improve the availability of evaluated IT products.
