SECURIFY AWARDED COMMON CRITERIA CERTIFICATION AT RSA CONFERENCE
Certification To Expand Securify’s Opportunity in Private and Public Security Sectors
RSA CONFERENCE, San Francisco, Calif., February 24, 2004 - Securify, a leading provider of network security management software, was awarded the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Common Criteria certification for its SecurVantage™ product. The NIAP Common Criteria is an internationally recognized standard that businesses and government agencies can use as a consistent and independently verified set of evaluation requirements for security products. The Common Criteria Certificate was presented to Securify at an awards ceremony today at the annual RSA Conference in San Francisco, California.
With today's certification, Securify plans to expand its customer momentum in the federal and commercial markets. Currently, the company includes the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), and Deutsche Bank as customers.
"We are proud to have earned the Common Criteria certification," said Kim McPherson, senior vice president of products at Securify. "The Common Criteria certificate is a testament to our ongoing commitment to security and technical depth of our SecurVantage product, giving us the ability to garner new customers worldwide."
With its unique policy-based approach, which translates business requirements and security policies into a formal set of specifications, SecurVantage is able to monitor, measure and report security risks across networks in real time. The SecurVantage product is comprised of three components:
- SecurVantage Monitor that evaluates network traffic in real-time according to the network security policy on a continuous basis, providing users with real-time network security conformance events and risk information.
- SecurVantage Studio that provides an interface enabling the authoring of network security policy at multiple levels of the infrastructure, lowering the risks of security breaches across the network.
- SecurVantage Enterprise that aggregates real-time events and remotely manages multiple SecurVantage Monitors, providing enterprises with a command and control center to manage network operations.
The Securify SecurVantage network security management product was evaluated by CygnaCom Solutions, a Common Criteria Testing Laboratory located in McLean, VA. CygnaCom has been accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program and approved by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) to conduct security evaluations.
About The Common Criteria
The Common Criteria is an international standard for evaluating IT security. It was developed by a consortium of countries to replace a number of existing country-specific assessment processes, and was intended to establish a single standard for international use. The Common Criteria has three characteristics that define it as the "gold standard" for security evaluations: first, it was developed combining the best security practices from existing security evaluation standards; second, the Common Criteria sets and maintains stringent standard for the evaluation criteria as well as the for the conduct of evaluations; and third, the Common Criteria is an independent evaluation of security assurance, which prevents any ulterior motives from influencing the evaluation outcome.
